Each Profile Academy is shaped around the topics that matter most to your team. We can cover extrusion, fabrication and sustainability, pull in design principles, tolerances and standards, or focus on whatever else is most useful for your work. A session can stay narrow on a single area or open up across the full picture. Profile Academies run at your site, at a Hydro location or online, and they are led by experts who bring real project experience with them.

What we cover

A Profile Academy can focus on one, blend several, or move in a different direction entirely. Here are five topics we are often asked to present.

Extrusion

The fundamentals of how aluminium profiles are made. How the process works, what shapes are possible, and the design choices that affect production.

Fabrication

What happens to profiles after they're extruded. Cutting, machining, joining and assembly, plus how decisions earlier in the design process shape what's possible later.

Surface treatment

How surface treatments like anodizing and powder coating affect appearance, corrosion resistance and the dimensional behaviour of the profile.

Sustainability

Learn how Hydro produces low-carbon and recycled aluminium, and how your material choices affect the environmental footprint of the finished product.
