Hydro Precision Tubing, one of the company’s business units, has received the DENSO Award for Excellent Collaboration for Sustainability Initiatives in 2020. Aligned with its goal to reduce CO2 emissions, DENSO appreciated the proactive collaboration provided by the aluminum tubing team in Denmark.

The Tønder-based team is credited with developing solutions combining low-carbon Hydro REDUXA with post-consumer aluminium scrap, to meet DENSO requirements.

Produced with renewable energy, Hydro REDUXA has a maximum carbon footprint of 4.0 kg CO2 per kg aluminium produced. This is one-fourth of the global average.

With this award, we want to show our appreciation for Hydro Tønder’s excellent collaboration regarding carbon-free, recycling rate and CO2 emissions topics.”

Michael Wind, sales director for Hydro Precision Tubing in Europe, points out that Hydro has received a number of awards from DENSO over the years – including top supplier honors – but that “this one is special. This is an example of internal collaboration at its best, resulting in exceeding customer expectations.”
