Big tasks

Hydro wants to strengthen its professional project staffing in a number of technical disciplines, including project control. Hydro has set the bar high and is after the best candidates.

The projects are big, despite the departure of the oil and gas business to Statoil last year.

Even before Hydro’s Projects organization put the finishing touches on the Ormen Lange gas project in the Norwegian Sea, the company was setting its sights on its future role as a focused aluminium company.

In Qatar, we’re building the biggest aluminium plant ever built in one phase. The aluminium company Qatalum is a joint venture between Hydro and Qatar Petroleum, but Hydro has responsibility for construction and development.
