Diversity in Hydro includes our unique identities, such as age, culture, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, mental, cognitive and physical abilities, education, and professional background. By bringing together and leading diverse perspectives, we create a culture where every contribution matters, helping us make better decisions and achieve stronger, lasting success.
Our commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging (DIB) is embedded in Hydro’s Code of Conduct, People Directive, and dedicated DIB policy. Our DIB approach is supported by resources such as our guide for using respectful and inclusive language, and our guidelines for the inclusion of people with disabilities.
Ambitions and actions at Hydro
We have committed to increasing female representation across all levels and to creating a workplace that is fair and equitable for all, regardless of background and personal characteristics. We are committed to addressing any gender pay gaps to ensure equity.
To support all families, we have introduced a global standard for paid parental leave with 16 weeks for primary caregivers and four weeks for secondary caregivers, with some local exceptions.
To foster connection and support around diverse identities, Hydro offers a variety of employee resource groups. These groups allow employees to connect, share experiences and advance specific diversity agendas, reinforcing our inclusive culture.
We regularly gather feedback from employees on diversity and inclusion, helping us shape our policies. This feedback also informs our Inclusion Index, a global KPI that tracks our effectiveness in supporting and utilizing the strengths of our diversity.
Each year, we celebrate five key diversity days to raise awareness and reaffirm Hydro’s commitment to a workplace where everyone feels valued. To further build a culture of belonging, we offer DIB training and workshops at various levels across Hydro, equipping our leaders and employees to champion inclusion and release the potential in our diversity to create value.
